DESCRIPTION: Using free motion sewing techniques on your domestic sewing machine, learn to create shapes, designs and embellishments on a panel of your choice to create a 2D work of art. Topics include using thread to create colour, shading, outlining, highlights, texture and dimension to bring your panel to life. Techniques learned in this course are transferable to other quilting projects and are great for practising free motion quilting.
HOMEWORK: Press panel and backing to make sure there are no wrinkles. Sandwich the panel as follows. From top to bottom: panel, Polly Batting, Cotton Batting, Muslin or Cotton backing. If adding borders attach prior to sandwiching the quilt layers. Pin the sandwich together.
